Valtari, the sixth studio album from Icelandic group Sigur Rós, is set for release by EMI on 28 May.

according to bassist Georg Hólm, it will be a departure from previous albums, with the record featuring “more electronic stuff than before”, whist singer Jónsi Birgisson has said “The last two albums are more upbeat. Too joyous, too festive! … It’s time for us to take a left turn and do something more experimental. It feels like a new beginning.”

we’ve bombarded our way through the first third of this year and it hardly feels anything like four months.

on the flip side however, it feels like the music world has taken a bit of  breather, with only a handful of top class albums/singles released thus far. that said, there are 2 tracks on this mixtape off some of my favourite albums this year, from Chromatics and Santigold respectively, as well as some local goodness from Nico van Reenen and also the smoothest remix (Still Dre) I’ve heard in sometime.

this tight new cut is off the upcoming May-release of Simian Mobile Disco’s 3rd studio album, Unpatterns.

like with penii, a dance track is either a grower or a shower, and in the case of Put Your Hands Together, it is most definitely a grower. the track rises steadily to the occasion, throbbing and growing as it pulsates long and hard for the duration of its 7:20 running time.

enough snarky smut talk, listen to the track – KBWS are excited for the album!
