Kowloon Walled City was a largely ungoverned settlement in Kowloon, Hong Kong, thought to be the most densely populated place on Earth before evacuations started in 1991.

it housed 33 000 people, living in over 300 interconnected high-rise buildings, all built without the contributions of a single architect.
